Leadership Team

Kohinoor Foods today reaches customers across India and in over 60 countries worldwide. This vision has been made possible by the dedication, determination and resolve of three brothers - Jugal Kishore Arora, Satnam Arora and Gurnam Arora.

They understood that food is not just a product, it is an experience:

  • How it smells
  • How it feels on the plate
  • How it brings people together

With this belief at the core of their vision, they led the company to new heights. Their unwavering focus and clear sense of purpose enabled them to make confident decisions and build a strong foundation for long-term success. Throughout the journey, they remained committed to one simple philosophy to stay rooted in Indian culinary heritage while evolving with tastes across the world. This has enabled Kohinoor Foods to grow with purpose while preserving its essence.

Today, teams across India and beyond work with the same commitment—to build an exceptional organisation and make Kohinoor a household name. What began as a family-led vision has grown into a global food brand, still grounded in tradition yet created for the way the world eats today.

JUGAL KISHORE ARORA

JUGAL KISHORE ARORA

(Chairman)

Jugal Kishore Arora has been associated with the organisation since its inception. A graduate of Punjab University, he oversees the company’s procurement and production operations.

With over three decades of experience in the rice industry, his work begins long before processing more precisely, in the fields, where he assesses the grain and its condition. He has played a significant role in the global recognition and wide acceptance of the company’s basmati brands.

Mr Arora established the first rice processing plant in Amritsar, followed by facilities in Murthal (Haryana) and New Delhi. His major contribution has been in the area of quality standardisation. He has pioneered the development of quality parameters for Indian basmati rice by working extensively with farmers, agricultural scientists, and research professionals to enhance the quality and yield of basmati rice.

Today, he continues to provide strategic leadership by overseeing the procurement of raw materials (paddy), identifying the most suitable growing regions, and establishing quality standards for the company’s range of rice products.

SATNAM ARORA

SATNAM ARORA

(Joint Managing Director)

Satnam Arora has played a pivotal role in shaping how Kohinoor presents itself in global markets. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Punjab University. Having been associated with the family business since its inception, he has extensive experience in marketing rice across international markets.

Mr. Satnam Arora oversees export marketing while also managing banking, finance, taxation, legal and secretarial functions. His contributions have played a significant role in expanding Kohinoor’s presence across Indian and international markets, helping the brand earn a place on dining tables around the world.

He strongly believes that success is built on clarity and conviction, knowing what you stand for and maintaining that consistency across every market. To stay closely connected with the industry, he is actively associated with organisations such as FICCI, ASSOCHAM, AIREA (All India Rice Exporters Association) and APEDA.

Gurnam Arora

Gurnam Arora

(Joint Managing Director)

After completing his graduation, Gurnam Arora joined the family’s rice business and steadily developed a deep understanding of both the product and the market. His experience and expertise have played a key role in shifting the rice industry from a commodity-driven business to a recognised branded category.

With over 30 years of experience, Mr Arora has remained focused on making rice more relevant to modern consumers. From introducing convenient packaging options to creating value beyond the grain itself, his work reflects a clear understanding of how people buy, cook, and serve food.

Mr Arora oversees domestic marketing, procurement, administration, human resources, quality control, and the company’s day-to-day corporate affairs. His broad vision has helped strengthen the company’s value, expand its reach, and establish it as a trusted choice in kitchens across the country.

He has also contributed to the wider industry, serving as President of the All India Rice Exporters Association and as a member of the Basmati Development Fund. In addition, he has actively engaged with organisations such as APEDA, the Ministry of Commerce, FICCI, and ASSOCHAM.
