Monsoon Extra Fine Basmati Rice

Fine Basmati Rice Ideal for Traditional Delicacies That Captures the True Flavour and Elegance

Monsoon Extra Fine Basmati Rice is a new generation of Basmati Rice, known for its fine structure. Like all our rice, this is also sourced from the Himalayan foothills. After sourcing, the best grains are carefully chosen and processed in a controlled environment. It is then naturally aged for two years, which gives the grains light, separate, and fluffy rather than heavy or sticky, after cooking.

Kohinoor’s Extra Fine Monsoon Basmati Rice is gluten-free, non-GMO, chemical and pesticide-free, and also does not contain artificial colourants or preservatives. The long grain is naturally aromatic and can be used for everyday consumption and even special occasions.

Whether your heart desires to make khichdi, pilaf, fried rice, stew, or biryani, Extra Fine Monsoon rice is the perfect choice. This rice is not only about the exquisite taste or delectable aroma, but it is also suitable for healthy cooking.

  • The rice comes in laminated pouches and fabric packaging, depending on the pack size and usage.
  • The 10kg and 20kg packs come in sturdy fabric bags.
  • 1kg, and 5kg packs come in convenient laminated pouches.

Before cooking, soak the rice for 20-30 minutes for better results. As the grains begin to lengthen slightly, you can prepare them using any of the three methods:

Open Pot

  • Put the rice in boiling water and let it cook on medium heat for around 10 minutes.
  • After the rice is cooked, drain the water and run hot water over the rice.

Closed

  • Take a heavy-bottomed vessel and add 1 measure of rice and 1 3⁄4 measures of water
  • Cover it with the lid and simmer so that the rice cooks well.
  • Once the rice softens, allow it to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Microwave

  • Add water and rice to the ratio of 1¾:1 in a microwave-safe bowl.
  • Cover it with a cling film and cook for 6 minutes.

Note: For microwave, it is recommended to cook only 300g of rice at a time.
