    Frequently Asked Questions

Does Kohinoor Extra Flavour Basmati Rice require soaking before cooking?
Yes. It is recommended to soak Kohinoor Extra Flavour Basmati Rice for 20–30 minutes before cooking. Soaking helps the grains elongate more evenly during cooking, resulting in a lighter texture and enhanced aroma.
How long are the grains after cooking?
When cooked properly, the grains elongate beautifully, remaining long, slender, and well separated. They are also less likely to break during cooking, giving dishes an elegant presentation.
What is the ideal water ratio for cooking?
A common ratio is 1 cup of rice to 1½–2 cups of water, depending on the cooking method. You may need to adjust the amount of water slightly based on the soaking time and your preferred cooking method.
Does ageing affect the cooking quality?
Yes. Natural ageing helps reduce the moisture content of the grains, promoting better elongation, an improved texture, and more consistent cooking results.
