For best results, it is advised to soak the rice for 20-30 minutes.
Once the rice is elongated a bit, you can cook it by either of the three methods:

Open Pot

  • Add rice directly to the boiling water and cook for 10 minutes on medium heat.
  • Strain and wash it in hot water.
  • Fluff with a fork and then serve.

Closed

  • Mix water and rice (ratio of 1:3/4 measure of water and 1 measure of rice).
  • Boil in a vessel with a heavy base and cook it for 10 minutes with a lid covered, on low heat.
  • Allow it to cool for 5 minutes.

Microwave

  • Mix water and rice to the ratio of 1¾:1 in a deep vessel.
  • Cover it with a cling film and set the timer for 6 minutes.
  • Note: For microwave, it is recommended to use 300g of rice at a time.
