A Rich, Fragrant Kashmiri Curry Base with Gentle Heat and Deep Spice Notes

Kohinoor Kashmiri Rogan Josh is inspired by the iconic Kashmiri curry, making it easy to create a slow-cooked, flavourful meal without preparing the gravy from scratch. The sauce is enriched with aromatic whole spices, including cardamom, cinnamon, clove and cumin, delivering layers of flavour that develop gradually rather than overwhelming the palate.

Its rich, velvety texture coats lamb, mutton, chicken, or paneer beautifully, making it a versatile choice for both traditional and vegetarian preparations. With its gently smoky character, earthy undertones, and warming spice profile, this gravy is equally suited to everyday cooking and special occasions.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Does the gravy contain oil?
Yes. The gravy contains refined sunflower oil, which helps create its rich texture, smooth consistency, and well-rounded flavour. If you prefer a richer finish, you may add a small amount of butter or cream while cooking, although this is entirely optional.
Does the sauce need extra ingredients?
Not necessarily. Simply cook your chosen protein or vegetables, add the sauce, and simmer until fully cooked. If required, you can add a little water to adjust the consistency to your preference.
Is the chilli likely to be sharp or more colour-focused?
The sauce is designed to deliver a gentle warmth rather than an intense heat. Inspired by the characteristics of Kashmiri-style chilli, it offers a vibrant colour and a mild, well-balanced spice profile.
